Connecting with our patients is so important. But taking notes on a computer screen while listening to our patients can make that personal connection tough to maintain.

That's why we've introduced medical scribes as a part of many patient visits at CMMD and Associates. Scribes act as an extension of a clinician and are responsible for documenting the entirety of a visit in the patient's Electronic Medical Record, or EMR. This includes charting medical histories, physical examinations, symptoms, treatment plans, procedures performed, and more.

This key team member allows the clinician to focus on you, the patient, rather than the computer, enhancing your experience while still ensuring accurate medical documentation.

At CMMD, scribes are paired up with the same clinician, so many patients get to know the medical scribes as well as their clinicians. Next time you're in the office, say hi to your scribe! They are a part of your care team and they look forward to performing this important service during your visit.
