Find your core stabilizers.
Dear Patients and Friends,
I recently reread the greeting I sent on January 2, 2025. It stopped me in my tracks.
So much of it still feels exactly right.
I meant to send a December message, but didn’t quite pull it together in time… which honestly tracks. Classic me.
Reading it now made me smile. What a year 2024 was. When I wrote that greeting, and I looked ahead to 2025, my intention was simple but ambitious: to allow more moments of spontaneous joy, even when they disrupted my carefully constructed self-discipline.
Our family experienced incredible highs, along with some real stretches of struggle. Chris and I became empty nesters, and all three of our kids went through periods of stress. Those of you who are parents know the feeling—you’re only as happy as your least happy child, and all that.
At the practice, we opened our third space. We hired four new clinicians – and promptly parted ways with three of them. Amy, Melissa, Wendy, and I built and presented a 12-week menopause program while simultaneously studying to become Menopause Society Certified Practitioners. It was exhilarating and exhausting in equal measure. (I only just noticed how similar those two words are.)
But what I really want to share is what happened this morning.
